Modern American culture and media is always releasing coverage on the latest trend in diets and health advice. As celebrity’s endorse new and different plans, there is always a constant cycle of information and advice for one to follow. Recently, more and more physicians are also offering plans based off of Biblical scripture and teachings. These plans rely on the strong spiritual foundation of faith to pave the way towards contemporary medical issues that are so prevalent today.
There is great hope for the deaf community, who is largely lacking the ability and means to read the Bible. An estimated 400 forms of Sign Language exist across the globe, and very few of them have a complete translation of the entire Bible. This is such a large community that is often not considered in outreach or ministry. However the Deaf Bible Society seeks to change these statistics by providing the Bible to nearly “80% of the community by the year 2025.”
Let me assure you that the Bible isn’t just for preachers or Bible teachers. It’s for everyone! God gave the Bible to us, and he wants every one of us to be able to read it and learn from it. The Psalmist said, “It gives understanding to the simple” (Psalm 119:130).
